IAY is the most important Rural Housing Scheme for BPL families in Rural areas which provides pucca house @ Rs 45000 per house plus sanitary latrines @ Rs 3200 from Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan. In 2010-11 and 2011-12 years we constructed 25838 houses in 31 blocks.
- This year we sanctioned 14747 houses and released Rs 3193 lakhs in the beginning of 2012-13 financial year.
- Now, District got another Rs 34 crores as 2nd instalment as informed by Govt of India.
- 2nd instalment is released on utilisation of 60 % of the available funds. Burdwan got its full entitlement this year.
- Funds shall reach GPs in a week for disbursement to beneficiaries against ongoing house construction on production of photographs that work is started and completed up to plinth level.
- We have all blocks to do social audit of works and see that houses are constructed physically in all cases as per plan.
