NREGA review meeting on 26th February 2009

Next meeting of Supervisory Officers and SDOs regarding review of NREGA shall be held at 1.30 pm on 26th February 2009 at Collectorate Conference hall. BDOs are also specially invited to attend the meeting along with updated GP wise report on number of schemes under execution, households provided work, job card holders working, number of days of work to each households, inspection by block team, social audit etc in addition to MIS reports. Blocks with less than only 10 days work to each households must come prepared as to how they are planning to achieve the target. All blocks must fix a target of at least 40 days work till 31st March 2009 without fail.
We may also discuss convergence of NREGA with horticulture mission, sanitation, fisheries pond excavation, irrigation field channels, embankments and anti erosion works and individual schemes to ST, SC, BPL, Bargadar job card holders.
After the NREGA meetings, a presentation on election related circulars shall be made by election section. Issues related to ensuing Parliament Election 2009 may be discussed in detail.

Training of High School teachers on Computer Aided Learning (CAL) concluded

Sarva Shiksha Mission conducted training of 150 high school teachers @ three from each school with the help of professional agency C-DAC recently. This is as part of our efforts to improve quality of Computer Aided Learning (CAL) and also to equip the teachers to the best learning practices. SSM has provided five computers, printers, education CDs etc to all these Schools and also installed the machines only after getting the site prepared, electric supply duly verified.
Examination of trained teachers have been introduced for the first time. Out of 150 teachers undergone residential short course on fundamentals of computer operations, maintenance, MS office etc, 90 passed with A, 69 with B and only one with C grade.
Prize distribution to successful teachers was done on 20th February 2009 by DM Nadia and District Project Director Nadia in presence of DPO SSM and staff. Approximately 100 High Schools have been covered under CAL so far.
These teachers shall impart training to students at their schools.
