Happy republic day 2009 to all readers

The nation celebrates 60th Republic Day on 26th January 2009. We wish all the citizens of Nadia a very happy Republic day and invite the citizens to join the district level celebrations at Krishnagar stadium and Sub-divisional celebrations at respective SDO head quarters from 9.25 onwards. There will be national salute, march past by para military and civilian forces, schools, NCC etc followed by colourful cultural programmes. Tableau on different schemes will also be shown.

It is my proud privilege to get the opportunity to hoist the national flag on Republic Day at Krishnagar Stadium on three occasions.

The interesting fact is that in the history of Independant Nadia only four other District Magistrates, out of 45 DMs since 16.08.1947, had the privilege to hoist national flag as DM Nadia on three consecutive occasions. They are :

1. Smt. Ranu Ghosh 1977, 1978 and 1979.
2. Shri P. K. Prodhan 1987, 1988 and 1989.
3. Shri Hem Pande 1992, 1993 and 1994.
4. Shri R K Vats 1997, 1998 and 1999.
