MGNREGA has recorded highest man days till October 2012, breaking all the previous records. This year man days created by 5.97 lakhs families is 190 lakhs (April 2012 to October 2012) which is higher than last year achievement of 189 lakhs from April 2011 to March 2012.
- Average work per family engaged is 32 days. On an average each family of 5.97 families engaged under MGNREGA got more than Rs 4100 income out of MGNREGA, supplementing family household budget for better living.
- Burdwan district recorded 310 lakhs man days in last 12 months, the highest by any District.
- Expenditure of funds is Rs 345 crores as per reports received till 15th November since April 2012. Our annual expenditure last year was Rs 359 crores.
- At present new PIAs are not in the position to start new works as there is no funds available. We got Rs 58 crores immediately after Pujas, which is disbursed to PIAs for payment of pending wages and material costs. All pending bills could not be fully cleared out of this allotment. Request has been made to release further funds so as to start new works as soon as paddy harvesting is over.
- Burdwan becomes first district to enrol 2.29 lakhs APL families under RSBY where Rs 30000 per annum free treatment cost is available to each family.
