Modernisation of IISCO Burnpur progressing well - inauguration of Coke Despatch System today

Steel Authority of India  Limited ISP Plant at Burnpur is one of the most important and to be one of the largest Public Sector Steel plant after modernisation work with the capital investment of RS 16400 crores. The modernisation project of the this one of the oldest plant in India got delayed initially due to several local issues related to Land Compensation and demand for employment to project affected people. Now, these issues has been resolved amicably through effective discussions, affirmative actions for employment to PAPs by the ISP authorities facilitated by State Govt of West Bengal and local administration. In last one and half years the project has progressed quite well. Today, CEO Shri M K Jha organised opening of newly set up coke dispatch system of Coke Oven Plant by Shri Partha Chatterjee MIC Commerce & Industries in presence of MIC Law & Justice and several others. It is known that the production in the modernised steel plant may start in middle of 2013. ISP plant will pave the way for development of Asansol and improvement of its economy similar to Durgapur due to DSP....
