Now change of Address of personal vehicles of employees become easy

Those who are transferring their personal cars/ vehicles from outside West Bengal on transfer and change of place needs permission of transport department at Writers Buildings at present. The vehicles must be minimum Bharat Stage III for re registration in districts and BSIV in Kolkata. We suggested the State Govt in video conference yesterday that this authority may be given to District Authorities so as to make it way convenient for persons whose job is transferable. The proposal has been accepted by transport department. Now, the person concerned can get the NOC from the existing RTO of the outside state in favor of the RTO of the district in West Bengal where he resides/ works with proof of address and business or employment. The vehicles must comply to BS norms. Good decision.

It is also agreed in principle to allow replacement of vehicles on route permits with minimum BSII in districts provided the vehicles are existing registered in the district concerned and old vehicle is attached with temporary or permanent permit. This will solve the problems of operators whose vehicles are at least 2000 year plus models and desires to upgrade the vehicle without scrapping old existing vehicle.
