Burdwan NREGA updates as on 31st July 2012

After performing the best in 2011-12 financial year under MGNREGA, Burdwan is contnuing good progress in both expenditure and man days cretaion in first quarter of 2012-13. As per the preliminary reports as on 31st July 2012, the district spent Rs 220 crores creating man days of 124 lakhs. We could add Rs 62 crores in last month itself whereas the man days added by 32 lakhs


Monthly expenditure in April was Rs.45.92 crores, that increased to Rs. 49.48 crores in May and Rs. 61.91 crores in June 2012. Similarly, monthly man days creation was 25.03 lakhs in April, 29.67 lakhs in May and 36.22 lakhs in June 2012. In first three months Burdwan district spent Rs 158 crores which is the record expenditure in first quarter of any financial year since inception. 


Last year, district crossed RS 100 crores only in November and man days of 90 lakhs crossed in December 2012.
In last six months, district could generate man days of 200 lakhs which is highest in the country and record for Burdwan district itself. Expenditure during last six months is Rs. 375 crores.
