Now, Block and Rural PHCs are being enlisted with target to cover 300 BPHCs/ RHs out of which 200 already enlisted.
RSBY decided to set up Rogi Sahayak Kendra (RSK) in all Government hospitals last year and accordingly RSKs of 8 Sahayaks in MCH/ DH, 5 in SDH/SGH and two at BPHC/ RH has been allowed. Later, National Health Mission came forward to support RSKs upto SGH. RSBY is supporting RSKs in Block PHCs/ RH.
These Sahayaks are young, educated and active workers helping patients to avail medical services in hospitals. Government hospitals are self sustained due to income from RSBY packages and provides better health care services out of the income. RSBY West Bengal achieved treatment of 3.31 lakhs worth Rs 225 Cr in 2014-15, which is record achievement. Turn around of RSBY in last 20 months has been appreciated.
